Laurids Gallée ()

While studying at the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2011, Laurids Gallée discovered that his creativity was primarily fuelled by two things: experimenting with materials and studying the history of applied arts. Having graduated in 2015 he started working in a creative production workshop to broaden his understanding of contemporary production processes and develop his manufacturing skills. Driven by the wish to put his own ideas into form he started his own studio in Rotterdam in 2017.

Galléeʼs work unites his craftsmanship and passion for materials with his love of drawing and illustration. His designs create an interplay between old and new, often drawing inspiration from folklore. This approach, combined with his use of cutting-edge machinery and processes, lends each piece a unique aesthetic that stands out in the crowded world of contemporary design.

Gallée’s work has been presented at fairs and shows internationally (including PAD Paris and Collectible Brussels) and he is gaining increasing recognition in the contemporary design world.
