Hubert LE GALL (1961)

Born in Lyon in 1961, Hubert Le Gall is a renowned figure in the contemporary design world. His studio is situated in Paris, and he is represented by a number of galleries internationally. Poetic and functional, his works unite diverse materials, inspired by natural forms and even fairy stories. Made from materials as diverse as precious metals, ostrich eggs and molten glass, each piece manifests his boundless imagination and the brilliance of his craftsmanship. From animals to flowers to abstract shapes that evoke the movement of a dance, each piece is an invitation to dream.

Precious and playful, his works are increasingly sought after by collectors and have been acquired by museums such as the Musée des Beaux Arts de Montréal au Canada and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs de Lille Roubaix. He is also involved in exhibition design and recently created the scenography for ‘Mélancolie’ at the Grand Palais and the ‘Fragonard’ exhibition at the Jacquemart-André Museum. His mirrors may be at the more classical end of his design spectrum, but their joyful, dynamic presence is characteristic of his style, and they are eminently collectible.
