Gaetano Sciolari (19271994)

Gaetano Sciolari graduated in architecture before turning to his first passion: filmmaking. After his father’s death in 1949 however, he took over the family lighting company. In a few years he had transformed it into an internationally renowned company. The Sciolari manufacture became the first Italian light seller in the United States (imported to America by Lightolier & Progress Lighting). Sciolari was not only a brilliant businessman, he was also a prolific and talented designer. During his career he produced designs for Stilnovo, Boulanger and Stilkronen and his lights are highly sought after today.
